Unit 7C Print Production-Task 8, Old magazine

When constructing my magazine on photoshop I adapted my two designs a bit as when I was doing it I thought that a banner across the masthead would be a good idea as it is a good way to advertise something, making the magazine more sellable. I have used the colour blue for the banner as it contrasts with the black writing for the masthead and also goes with the pink I have used for the sub headings of the cover lines.

Also instead of have the pug either on the top right or left of my magazine I put it on the bottom left hand corner as I believe it makes the magazine look more professional and also as I put the cover lines there I had to move it somewhere else. I then added the price to the pug so that people can see clearly before purchasing the magazine what the price is.

  1. This is a really nice piece of work, Fran. You have used an original image that is appropriate for the job. You have kept your colours to a minimum and they work well together. You have used layers well. In the design, consider enlarging the main image a little more and see what effect that has. In your comments, you need to find the technical term for when the model is looking directly at the audience. You also need to comment on your choice of black and white for the main image and colour for other aspects of the design. Does this achieve the effect you wanted?
